Bo and Katherine Dunn
In 1980, we purchased a home in South Florida with a swimming pool - our children were 1 and 4 years old. While researching pool safety options, we learned about a removable mesh fence product that would be the perfect answer for our pool safety needs.
- The fence would keep the children from getting near the pool as opposed to an alarm that would warn us that our child had just fallen in and was in the process of drowning.
- It was safe, attractive, and transparent so did not detract from the beauty of our pool and patio area.
- It was not a permanent structure so it could be taken down easily for entertaining or when the children were old enough to swim.
- The fence fit every stringent requirement we had to protect our children.
Convinced that the removable mesh fence was the perfect solution for many others with small children and pools, the pool fence business was started in Miami in 1980. We incorporated the qualities of Bo’s career as an Air Force and Delta Airline Pilot (perfection, high standards and attention to detail) into our business.
Upon moving to Atlanta in 1987, we started the Protect-A-Child Pool Fence Southeast distributorship. As design and installation experts, we have won the “Most Attractive Fence” award voted on by all distributors at four International Conventions in addition to two “Most Difficult Installation” awards. The Protect-A-Child Pool Fence Company continually sets the standard for safety, strength and quality in the pool fence industry. Our commitment to making pools “Baby Safe” is still as strong today as it was when we used it for our own children.
